Sister Bear and Too Much Birthday

Has anyone read that Berenstein Bears book Sister Bear and Too Much Birthday? Well that explains our little Abby's week in a nutshell. She had a couple of preschool friends over on Thursday to play.. and with Easter celebrations all weekend, it was kind of like her birthday went on for 5 days. She sure enjoyed every minute of it. Her actual birthday was Monday, but we were all tired out from all the parties that after we went to Cody, and took her out to lunch, I came home and painted McKay's room. I don't think she minded too much. She just kept saying all week, " I'm so lucky..." that's how we feel . We can't believe our little baby is 4.

Yes, I made that cake... I have always wanted to make a fancy cake. I watch Ace of Cakes all the time and bought fondant and gum paste and went to town. Barbie had to have a little amputation of the feet, but I am saving that doll, with 3 girls, I bet this isn't the last barbie cake I make.

Here are the pictures we got of the kids at Kiddie Kandids. We had a coupon for Abby's 4th birthday, and decided to brave the headache of picture time. The kids did really well this time, and I can't wait to get the framed black and white ones we ordered.. Hopefully I can get a family picture at Easter time with all 6 of us...

Ok, I know you all think this is an April Fools Joke, but I really am posting. I was going to do a cute joke about being prego, but I don't find that funny at all, and if some of you don't read this on April Fools day, then you might actually believe it. I'll wait til next year to do that joke, (but then again, it might be true for all my other sisters in laws...including the new ones...) speaking of which...

So, I look on Ryan's facebook page, and see that I am getting 2 new sister in laws. Really? Am I that old? Of course when I got married, we didn't even have email, but.. still.. that's how we find out? I am so excited for Ryan's wonderful brothers and to meet Rachel and have Carrie be "official". Congratulations Cameron and Collin!!

Maddie's dress needs a little white jacket thing, but it's very pre teen.. (isn't it?) Anyway, that's about it. I am glad March is over, that was a loooonnng month.

McKay's braces are off!!

Here is McKay with his braces off. We are glad to have that over with. No more missing school for ortho appt. and no more anxiety about how it will feel to get them taken off. Woo Hoo!!

Here is Maddie at her Valentine party. I made candy skewer things, and chocolate covered strawberries. Also, I think I made heart shaped pink rice krispy treats. It was a long time ago. We have had the flu since then and I can't remember anything!!

The Good, the Bad, and The UGLY

Here are some pictures from my trip to CA to go to Grandma Narda's funeral. The title of my post is the good, the bad and the ugly... the drive there, the visit with all the family and my sister and her family, seeing my Dad and having my Dad drive with me, those were all the good. The Bad was obviously the funeral, the drive home, snow, chains, the whole works. The Ugly was the robbery, the van being burglarized, the laptop stolen, etc. I should write more, but it's just too depressing, and want to move on, Grandma's funeral was really nice, I think she would of really liked it. The kids did a good job singing, and everyone I talked to said it was the nicest funeral they had been too. It was kind of like a sad family reunion

Ahhh.... my life ...my Dad Brian who raised me from age 1 1/2 to now (and drove 20 hours to go to the funeral with me)... and my Mom, (we wish Craig would of been there to get all 3 dad's in the picture. Mamma Mia, here I go again....) and Dad Rod who is my birth father and drove 4 hours each way just to see me and my kids. Aren't we loved?

I wish I could scan a copy of the beautiful program my cousin Erin made, if I can figure that out I will add it later. It was a beautiful program with nice pictures of Grandma, and a bookmark inside. It had a nice life history on the back I would like to add to this post.
